The type of personal information I collect: 


I collect information about you when you choose to enquire about my servie:


  • – Your name

  • – Your contact details including your name, email address, your home or business address


I will collect further information if we choose to work together:

  • date of birth

  • GP name/address

  • emergency contact name

  • address and phone number.

I sometimes take brief notes after the session, which will be held in accordance with GDPR. The notes are anonymised and contain no identifying information. I am not legaly obliged to take notes but if I have done so you have the right to see them if you wish.


How I obtain the information 

Most of the personal information I process is provided to me directly by

you in one of the following ways:

  • When you send a contact form on this website (your name and email address)

  • When you enquire via one of the counselling directories I am listed on. 

  • When you enquire via email (implied consent) or have agreed and wish to use any of my services.


When we have agreed to work together, I will verbally ask you for your date of birth, GP name/ address, emergency contact name, address and phone number. 


How I will this information 


Any client data collected and/or kept by us, including personal information, is processed primary for the purpose of communication relevant to the delivery of a therapeutic counselling services. Additionally, this data is processed to fulfill any legal or professional obligations that arise in the provision of counselling services.


Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful

bases we rely on for processing this information are:


  • We have a contractual obligation.

  • We have a legal obligation.

  • We have a legitimate interest.



There are a few instances where I would share information with a third party: 

  • With Your Consent. With your explicit consent, I may disclose your information to other professionals or individuals whom you have specified or agreed that we should communicate with.

  • Prevention of Serious Harm. In situations where there is reasonable belief that sharing your information could prevent serious harm to you or another individual, I may share relevant details with the appropriate authorities.

  • Legal Compliance: Your information will be shared as necessary, to comply with the law.


How Istore your personal information

Your information is securely stored on the cloud which is password protected. 

I keep records for a minimum of 7 years as advised by my insurance. 

After this time period your information will be deleted.

If you have any concerns about my use of your personal information, you
